According to Wikipedia, taste aversion can be influenced by a range of factors, including genetics, culture, and individual experiences (Wikipedia, 2022). For example, research has shown that genetic variations in the TAS2R38 gene can affect an individual's perception of bitter tastes and influence their susceptibility to taste aversion (Reed et al., 2004). Taste aversion is a universal human experience that can occur in response to a wide range of stimuli, from food poisoning to cultural or social conditioning. The phenomenon was first described in the 1960s by psychologists John Garcia and Robert Koelling, who discovered that rats developed a strong aversion to a particular taste after being exposed to it prior to a nausea-inducing experience (Garcia & Koelling, 1966). Since then, research on taste aversion has expanded significantly, with a growing understanding of the psychological and neuroscientific mechanisms underlying this phenomenon.
The psychological mechanisms underlying taste aversion involve classical conditioning, a type of learning in which a neutral stimulus becomes associated with an unconditioned stimulus (UCS) to elicit an unconditioned response (UCR) (Pavlov, 1927). In the context of taste aversion, the taste of a particular food serves as the conditioned stimulus (CS), while the negative experience (e.g., nausea, illness) serves as the UCS. Through repeated associations between the CS and UCS, the individual learns to associate the taste with the negative experience, leading to a conditioned response (CR) of aversion.

OnePlus just introduced this Font engine in their latest Open Beta. Perhaps in a future update they will provide an option for custom fonts, but for now, root is the only way to go.

Apache v2.0 License:

Therefore I am permitted to distribute these files with reference to the owner, as long as I generate no profit from doing so. I have uploaded these fonts to Google Drive, which does not pay me, so surely I have permission to share these fonts. I have clearly stated that
I do not own these fonts, and that their creator is indeed Rod McDonald.

For those that have tried flashing a different font with this new beta, does it break the lockscreen clock (it replaces the ":" with a box and the usual fix doesn't work)? Tried flashing Product Sans but it broke the Lock screen clock.

Just a note - if there will come an update and the font will be modified, please check, if the license is still Apache v2.0. If yes, you can of course upload them, too. If they won't be under a free license, don't upload the updated versions.

1) You're good to go.
2) OP put OPMusic.apk under Apache v2.0? Well, while I don't think they published their sources, anybody is allowed to hack the app anyway. I fear some devs don't know what they are doing in terms of license. The only sad thing - I don't think you can demand to get the source code.

Worth noting that this font is probably still quite WIP (if you go over Bug Report section of the forums you'll see)
Otherwise it looks good being not too thick but not condensed

If you have a customer recovery and a suitable .zip you can flash any font you like (also needs root).
There are plenty of them around in a huge XDA topic, unfortunately Slate for OnePlus isn't there yet (that's why I asked if anyone's aware of a flashable zip for it...)
On Open Beta 9 the problem with flashing another font and the lockscreen breaking continues
